According to reports, the abducted corps members were on their way to orientation camp when the incident happened on Tuesday, October 19, 2021.
According to Premium Times, about six others were missing after the incident.
The development has created panic among corps members in the orientation camp in Zamfara State.
The police spokesperson in the state, Muhammad Shehu, in a statement, said the police commissioner in the state, Ayuba Elkana, has visited the camp and assured NYSC officials of the safety of corps members in the camp.

The PUNCH newspaper identified the abducted corps members as Jennifer Iorliam and Joseph Aondona, adding that their abductors have contacted their families and demanded two million naira each for their release.
The abduction of the corps members came a few weeks after the federal government shut down telecommunication networks in Zamfara State.
How did bandits communicate with the families of their victims despite the network's shut down?
The reality is that the shutting down of telecommunication networks in Zamfara and other North West states is not yielding positive outcomes.
The criminals are still operating despite the shut down. They are still abducting innocent civilians and contacting their families for ransom.
Recall that a lawmaker in Sokoto State had earlier revealed that bandits are now using Niger Republic's network to communicate.
In my opinion, the federal government should do the following things to stop the bandits from operating in the North.
1. The government should review its security measures in the North West and come up with a new strategy.
It is obvious that the ongoing blockade is not yielding a positive outcome as intended.
2. The federal government should collaborate with neighboring countries, especially the Niger Republic, to get rid of the criminals terrorizing the country.
