The minister for transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi has asked Nigerians to stop directing all their blames to the All Progressive Congress (APC) led administration. He reiterated that the reason Nigerians are suffering the effects of terrorism, banditry, armed robbery and kidnapping is as a result of the failure of the previous administrations in the area of security.
The former Governor of River state said this during the opening of the North Central Coordinating Office complex of the Nigerian Shippers Council and visual presentation of the proposed Maritime Resource Centre in Jos, Plateau State. He announced during the programmed that the essence of the project was to create more jobs for Nigerians.
Rotimi Amechi revealed, "The earlier Nigerians begin to acknowledge and appreciate administrations that are delivering projects, the better. Most people make us think as though we are the first to govern Nigeria. The increased rate of unemployment we are facing id as a result of the failure of previous administrations to create job opportunities for the youths."
"You cannot continue to blame the APC led administration for the emergence of the bandits. These peoples are unemployed youths and if there are jobs made available to them, nobody will see them doing what they are doing today. Worthy to note is the truth that if the previous administrations had provided jobs for them, there will be nothing like bandits and terrorists", he bragged.
He concluded by saying, "Therefore, if there's anybody to be blamed, then it should be the past leaders. The present administration is doing their very best and they deserve the applause of Nigerians."
Governor Bakko Lalong who was present during the opening ceremony applauded the Federal Government for the giant project and prayed that more of its kind will keep coming to the state. Governor Lalong hopefully announced that the project will deliver it's goal or purpose to the people of Plateau state.
