On Thursday, April 29, in Lagos, Princess Aderemi Adebowale, Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Civic Engagement, announced this in a statement signed by Mr. Sola Ogunmosunle, Director, Public Affairs Department, Office of Civic Engagement.
Mary Daniel's story went viral, and she got donations totaling 26 million naira. She was later arrested by the state government, according to reports. She did, however, make the startling admission that she was an orphan because her father had neglected her when her leg was amputated.

According to the Government, a committee has been formed to oversee Daniel's recovery and ensure that the donated funds are used wisely.
The state government's ultimate goal, according to Adebowale, is for Daniel to become a civically active person in the state.
“She now has the financial means to provide for herself and her child, and she has a new lease on life.” she remarked.
