The governor of Borno state Babagana Umara Zulum has expressed optimism that the abducted Chibok school children will be safely recovered. He lamented the continued detention of the vulnerable female children by members of Boko Haram. The governor confessed that he can not imagine the pain that he will go through to have his daughter abducted and still in captivity for seven years.
He called on the parents to exercise more patience and remain hopeful because he feels their pains.
It will be recalled that members of Boko Haram have stormed girls' boarding school in Chibok community and abducted hundreds of girls. Though many have escaped and returned home, several others are still with the terrorists.
The governor has disclosed to the conveners of Bring Back Our Girls that the Federal Government is not relenting and the president is so much concerned about the girls fate. The girls have so far spent seven years with their captors.
