Kano declares Friday work-free day:

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has declared Friday, May 14, 2021 as a work-free day to enable Muslim faithful continue with the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.


The State Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba, announced this in a statement on Thursday.


He said the decision was in consideration of the fact that Wednesday, which was part of the two-day Eid holiday declared by the Federal Government fell within the 30 days of Ramadan.


We are surprised with level of insecurity: Buhari :

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday said the insecurity plaguing northwestern Nigeria comes as a huge surprise to his administration, as it is striving hard to tackle the challenges.

“Without security, you can’t do anything. Our big surprise and disappointment is what is happening in the North-West and we are dealing with it,” the president said while speaking with journalists at the State House shortly after observing the Eid prayer,


Eid-el-Fitr: Imo governor assures residents of safety :

The Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, on Thursday, assured Muslims, Christians and all residents of state of their safety.

The governor, who spoke at Government House at the occasion commemorating this year’s Eid-el-Fitr, said that his administration had put all safety measures in place to ensure that nobody living in the state was harmed.

Describing the insecurity in the state as surmountable, Uzodinma said that the people of the state were religiously tolerant.
