Premier League

Leeds United; A new dawn of optimism after 16 years of pains and anguish.

On that fateful day when Bolton Wanderer led by the Mesmerising Nigeria, Jay Jay Okocha pumped four goals against Leeds United on the last day of the 2003/04 season to nail their relegation coffin, it has been tales of woes, managerial and management upheaval. For a side that was in the Semi final of the champions league in 1999/2000, it has been more harrowing and anguish but that sixteen years of pure agony and deprivation have ended with glamour and panache as Leeds are back where they rightly belong.

Experienced Argentine manager Marcelo Bielsa is already a folk hero for guiding Yorkshire side Leeds United to the Premier league as a street close to Leeds' Trinity centre in the heart of the city is now set to be named 'Marcelo Bielsa who is revered and adored in Argentina, Chile, Marseille and Bilbao, he is the godfather of coaching to Pep Guardiola and Mauricio Pochettino.

Leeds who secured promotion and the Championship title without kicking a ball due to West Brom's shock defeat to Huddersfield and Brentford loss to Stoke City left them at the summit of the second division and crowned champions of the league.

More glad tidings are coming in for Marcelo Bielsa as their promotion to the topflight will earn them a £200million windfall.

For a vastly experienced manager who believes in his ways of doing things, he can use Sheffield United's approach which has exceeded expectations as a barometer to achieving his objective.
