Manchester United were thought to have found their form again after their display in recent matches but yesterday's game against Chelsea exposed their weakness. United were beaten 3-1 by Chelsea at Wembley in the FA Cup Semi finals after a horrific display from their goalkeeper, David De Gea. Before the match, Ole Gunnar Soljaskre men were thought to have the upper hand in the same finals after winning three times against their opponents this season, but Chelsea proved to be a worthy opponent and came out triumphant.
The blues dominated most of the first half and their hard work paid in the 45th minute when Oliver Giroud took advantage of De Gea's error and put the ball behind the United net. It took Chelsea just 45 seconds after the restart of the second half to add another goal and United hope of making a come back was dashed out when Harry Maguire scored an own goal in the 71st minute of the play. Bruno Fernandes scored a late penalty in the late stages of the game which only served as a consolidation for Manchester United.
With that defeat, Manchester United hope of reaching the final of the FA cup is finished, and their worries continue as they host Westham United on Wednesday for their Premier League game. If they really want to book their ticket for Champions League, Manchester United have to forget their past and play with the same rhytm they played their games before yesterday, else next season Champions League will only be a dream for them too.
