Football has been progressing in Nigeria for a long time and the evidence is clear. A lot of Nigerian players play in

 foreign clubs and the Nigerian National team.

 In this sport opinion Article, I will be sharing with you 6 current best footballers in Nigeria:


1. Victor Osimhen  

Occupying my number 1 spot on the top 6 current best Footballers in Nigeria is Victor Osimhen.

Born in Lagos, Nigeria , on 29th December 1998, Victor Osimhen is a Nigerian football player currently playing for Napoli a seria A league side in Italy and the Nigerian National team.

He became the most expensive player from Nigeria on Europe after be transfered from Lille to Napoli for a club record move fee of Seventy one million Euros.


2. Wilfred Ndidi 

Born in Lagos Nigeria on 16th of December 1996, Wilfred Ndidi is widely known for his defensive prowess and long range of strikes. Currently, he is one of the best football players in the country.

3. Samuel Chukwuze 

 Born on the 22nd of May 1999, he became the youngest player to reach 100 games for his club. He has 3 goals, 6 Assist this season after 38 appearance. In 

April 2019, two years ago, he was awarded Young player of the Year by Nigerian football Association.

4. Alex Iwobi 

One of the Nigeria top players in 2021, Alex Iwobi was born in Lagos Nigeria on the 3rd of May 1996. The former Gunners man spent 15 years with his boyhood club. Currently at Everton, he is doing what he know how to do best.

5. Joe Aribo

Joe Aribo was born on 21st of July 1996. He plays in mildfield position for his current club and he has been a strong pillar for Steven Gerrard's Rain at Rangers. He is one of the best footballers currently in the country.

6. Zaidu Sanusi 

Zaidu Sanusi might have come into prominence in the recent part of 2021, but the left-back has been fantastic at the starting of the year.

2021 is a good starting for the 23-year-old. The defender made 21 league appearances for Santa Clara who managed a decent ninth-place in the Primeira Liga. His performances in that season were good enough to attract Portugues giant Porto who got the Nigerian to replace Brazilian Alex Telles who made a move to Manchester United.

 In 2020, last year, he also made his debut for the Super Eagles and has quickly established himself as the first-choice in the left-back role.
