Done Deal: Chelsea Star joins Palace on loan

Crystal Palace are delighted to announce the loan signing of Conor Gallagher from Chelsea for a year.

The 21-year-old midfielder joins from West Bromwich Albion, where he spent his first full season in the Premier League, scoring twice and assisting twice in 32 appearances, After progressing through Chelsea's youth system and appearing in the matchday squad as they won the 2019 Europa League final, Gallagher completed a successful loan move to Charlton Athletic in 2019/20, where he scored three goals in his first six appearances, earning him the Football League's Young Player of the Month award for August.

Gallagher joined Swansea City for the second half of the 19/20 season and helped the Swans to a play-off spot alongside now-Palace teammate Marc Guéhi, contributing seven assists in only 19 Championship games. Gallagher, an England Under-21 international, won the Under-17 World Cup with England in 2017 and has represented the Young Lions at all levels from Under-17 to Under-21, appearing in 32 international youth games.

Gallagher becomes Palace's fifth signing under Patrick Vieira, following the arrivals of Joachim Andersen, Guéhi, Michael Olise, and Remi Matthews.
