Premier League and EFL announce dates for extended summer transfer window

The Premier League and English Football League (EFL) confirmed that the summer transfer window will run from July 27 to October 5, with an additional domestic-only window running from October 5 to October 16.

From 5-16 October, Premier League clubs will be able to trade only with EFL clubs (either loans or permanent registrations); no transfers can take place between Premier clubs in that period.

The window would impact individual clubs like Newcastle United.

Transfer window opens 27th July. Less than a fortnight and yet regarding Newcastle United takeover it’s over 2 weeks since Premier League Chief Executive Richard Masters says he would like the process to conclude shortly. Clarity required because Newcastle United are a club in limbo because they can't buy or sell if the takeover is concluded.

Meanwhile the Scottish transfer window (now open) closing the same day as England's international window. There'll be no dramatic last-day splurges for Edouard with Celtic unable to bring in a replacement
