Premier League

2 Games to Go: Man United fan placed a bet on Jesse Lingard not to score or assist this season.

Struggling Manchester United forward Jesse Lingard seems to have been reduced to nothing by a fan who placed a bet on the striker not to score or assist in the Premier League this season. This is for me a big insult to the forward who have not scored nor assisted any goal in the premier league this season.

The supporter named Antony Johnson staked £3.30 on the England international to fire blanks all through the campaign. He is expected to win £135.30 should Lingard fails to score in the remaining two games left, the odd was on 41.0 when he placed the bet at the start of this season. The supporter took to his twitter handle to reveal the bet, the most surprising thing is he also tagged Jesse Lingard in his post which is an embarrassment to the player.

Here's his post..

"Lingard making me sweat tonight. 36 down, 2 to go. @JesseLingard"

With two more games left for the Red Devils this campaign which is against West Ham and fellow top four contender Leicester City on the final match, Johnson's prediction will likely be realised as it is unsure if Manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer will use the player in such an important matches which will determine their faith in the race for top four.

Meanwhile, some of Johnson's followers has criticized him for tagging the player in his post, they feel that it's an insult to the player who has been struggling all season, some followers also congratulated Johnson as they believe that the bet is all but won already. But some of his followers advised him to be careful and not let Solskjaer see this bet because the coach may send Lingard on to take penalty to make sure that he scores before the end of the season.

Here is some of the reactions from fans on Anthony Johnson's post...

Would you take such risk on a full season for a striker not to score?
