Phil Jones who is one of the longest serving player at Manchester United alongside David De Gea and Lingard is now considering a championship loan move away from Old Trafford before the end of the transfer window.
According to a report from Manchester United news, the 29 years old is Keen to restart his career and with players like Maguire, Bailly, Lindelof and summer arrival, Varane ahead of him in the pecking order, a return to the first team seems very unlikely.
Reacting to the tweet, Manchester United fans sounds excited with the news with one saying that the exit is long overdue, and some saying he should be sold instead of loaning him out. See some of the responds below.
Phil Jones joined Manchester United from Blackburn Rovers for a fee of £16.5 million and was considered as one of the best young central backs in the premier league.
Jones career at Old Trafford has been met with a lot of injury and the last time he appeared on the pitch was in January 2020 against Tranmere Rovers.
Although no team is currently on the table, but the central back made it clear that he is willing to join a second-tier club that will be challenging for promotion and it is believed that Manchester United has sent out enquiries to Championship clubs to secure a move for him.
His current contract with Manchester United expires in June 2023, although there is also an option to extend his contract until 2024.
So do you think Phil Jones still have a role to play at Old Trafford?
