No Chelsea supporter wants to see Antonio Rudiger go, but with his contract set to expire at the end of the season - and talks to extend it deadlocked - the only practical option may be to look for a successor.

The 28-year-old German international has a number of suitors who are willing to meet his pay demands, but he has kept all of his cards close to his chest thus far. Rudiger has stated that this is the most significant choice of his professional career and that he would not hurry into anything.

While he may decide to extend his tenure at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea must make a choice if he does not. Let's take a look at some of the top center-backs who might eventually replace Antonio Rudiger at Chelsea.

Jules Kounde | Sevilla

Jules Kounde's prospective move from Sevilla to Chelsea was one of the most talked-about topics during the summer transfer season. Despite Thomas Tuchel's best efforts to sign the 22-year-old, the Blues were unable to come to an agreement with the Spanish club.

According to reports, Kounde was dissatisfied with the outcome of those talks, and the French international may still wish to join Chelsea if a new offer comes in from the club's upper management. Kounde is presently focused on performing well for Sevilla, and his strong showings will only serve to pique Chelsea's interest in the top-rated player.

The young Italian international has shown that he can compete at the greatest level and will have no trouble settling in at Stamford Bridge. However, bending the Nerazzurri's will to Chelsea's will during the January transfer window may need a hefty bid.

Bayern Munich's Niklas Sule

Bayern Munich is keeping an eye on Antonio Rudiger's departure from Stamford Bridge, while Chelsea is keeping an eye on Niklas Sule's departure from the Allianz Arena. Both teams appear to be in the same boat, with their respective center-backs unwilling to extend or renew their contracts.

With Sule's contract set to expire at the end of the season, this may be Thomas Tuchel's most cost-effective way of replacing Rudiger.

Could these players actually replace the In-form Anthony Rüdiger for Chelsea when his contract expires this summer?.
