Manchester United is regaining control of the English Premier League under Norwegian boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who has been in charge of the club for nearly three years. From the 1990s to the early 2010s, they had one of the strongest squads in the Premier League under Ferguson, and this seems to be returning under Solskjaer.
After losing in multiple semifinals last season and this season, Solskjaer is still without a trophy at Old Trafford. He has a chance to win the Europa League this season because his team is in the best shape and has the best squad capable of winning trophies, which will be a fantastic start for him.
The Red Devils have set some impressive records under Ole Gunnar, including not losing a single away match in League games so far, and scoring 100 goals in all competitions, which they did last season under Sir Alex Ferguson.
When Edison Cavani scored the first goal for United in their Europa League quarter-final match against Granada, the club set a new record. Since Fergie and other great managers like Jose Mourinho and Luis van Gaal left, nothing like this has happened.
Manchester City has scored 100 goals this season as well, but when compared to United, the Red Devils' forwards have been more successful in front of goal. Pep Guardiola's goal scorers have mainly been midfielders, even though IIkay Gundogan is the club's top scorer this season.
This season, Manchester United's strikers have been prolific, and no Manchester City player, not even their high-scoring midfielders, has scored more goals than Marcus Rashford. This goal tally demonstrates how the United attack is developing into one of the best in Europe, and how they could be invincible next season.
