Sunday's Results

Athletic Bilbao 0-1 Barcelona
Mallorca 1-1 Real Sociedad
Sevilla 2-1 Almeria
Villarreal 1-1 Real Betis

Last night in La Liga, VAR stepped in to stop Athletic and Inaki Williams from scoring a dramatic equalizer against Barcelona, disqualifying the goal due to Muniain's earlier handball. Lewandowski's header was the closest Barcelona came to adding to Raphinha's first-half goal, but Ter Stegen was repeatedly called upon to block attempts from Berenguer, Muniain, Nico, and Guruzeta in the closing seconds. The three points went to Barcelona, who widened their comfortable lead at the top of La Liga. Bilbao did everything but score, and they will undoubtedly feel hurt by that last-minute VAR decision.
La Liga Table After These Results
Raphinha has scored the only goal in successive matches to earn Barcelona back-to-back 1-0 wins, so Barcelona restored their nine-point lead at the top of La Liga with the narrow victory at Athletic Bilbao.
