Why The Reason For Chelsea's Failure This Season Is Spending Their Money In The Wrong Way

Chelsea spent close to £600million on new Players this season only to fail to win any title, and it gets worse for the West London club because they have had 4 different Managers this season including Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter, Bruno Saltor and Frank Lampard.

Despite that, they are set to finish on the second half of the Premier league table this season, failing to qualify for any European tournament including the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa league and Europa Conference League.

You can't say Chelsea isn't signing new Players to reinforce and invest in the squad because they have literally outspent a lot of top European clubs this season in the two transfer windows.

In fact, one can argue that the money that Chelsea spent this season has done more damage than good to the squad. This is because the West London club had a ridiculously large squad this season.

The Managers would have to be worrying about what Players to use and pacifying the others that also deserve to play but doesn't get a chance to play.

More importantly, Chelsea hasn't made a lot of bad decisions, spending the money in the wrong way on the wrong signings this season, especially last summer.

I mean, Chelsea paid more money for Kalidou Koulibaly than Manchester City paid to sign John Stones. Chelsea paid more Money to sign Marc Cucurella than Manchester City paid to sign Ruben Dias. Raheem Sterling cost Chelsea more than Julian Alvarez cost Manchester City.

There are a horde of other expensive Players in the Chelsea squad that has been literally awful and useless this season.
