Official: Chelsea completes sale of Pasalic to Atalanta

They've been in the news for a lot of reasons - both buying and selling - but Chelsea have finally completed their first summer transfer deal.

According to reports, Chelsea have completed the sale of Croatian midfielder Mario Pasalic to Atalanta on a permanent basis.

Pasalic had initially joined Chelsea from Hadjuk Split for just £3million back in 2014, a time when he was considered one of the biggest prospects in Europe.

However, things didn't quite work out well for him at Stamford Bridge as he's had to go out on different loans since, the last of which finally proved to be fruitful.

The 25-year old has had a 'solid-if-unspectacular' spell on loan at Atalanta, and the Italians have decided to activate their £13.4million option to buy Pasalic, with Journalist Nicolo Schira claiming that the contract has been confirmed and a five year deal has been signed.

Italian outlet Gazetta dello sport claims that the details of the permanent deal remain the same as when the loan move was finalised. He is reportedly set to earn around £4.3million a year.

This transfer will surely boost Chelsea's quest to make acquisitions this summer by adding some funds to their budget.
