Former Mozambican footballer Ali Hassan, who at the time 1988/89 had the privilege of playing Maradona, in a match between Sporting and Naples, received the news of the physical disappearance of the Argentine star with great sadness.
But for Ali Hassan, the eternal shirt 10 has only disappeared physically because the heat and energy of the Argentine star will always remain alive.
"It was with great sadness that I received the news of the death of the best player in the world. These are sad days for the Argentine people and for the sporting world in general. We lost him physically, but he will live forever in the hearts of the living, because personalities of this nature do not die, they just travel. My sincere condolences go out to the family and the Argentine people," he said.
Recalling the day he played against Maradona, the former player of the Mozambique Team considers it a unique moment in his career.
"It was one of the moments that marked my career as a football player, after all it is not every day that you face the best player of all time. It was a pride for me and Mozambique, of course. It was indeed an odd moment. In one of the games with Maradona I was warned with a yellow card. At the end of the game, held at San Paolo, we talked and he got to know our beautiful country, Mozambique", he recalled.
