Sad news has come from Manchester.
Former Manchester United striker Alex Dawson has died at the age of 80, the club sources have confirmed.
Dawson was part of the Busby Babes and made 93 appearances for United between 1957 and 1961, scoring 54 goals. The Scotsman was a teammate of Sir Bobby Charlton and played a huge role in building a new team after the Munich Disaster.
Dawson remains the last player to score a hat-trick in the FA Cup semifinals.
Rest in peace, Alex.
