Reason Why Pogba And Bruno Fernandes Were Not Nominated For Player Of The Month Award

Despite scoring three goals for Manchester United in the month of August, Bruno Fernandes was not in the list of players that have been nominated for the Premier League's Player of the month award.

His compatriot, Paul Pogba was also conspicuously missing on the list of players nominated for the award despite having five assists to his credit in the first three games played by Manchester United.

The reason for their not being among the nominees for the award was basically as a result of the criteria used in selecting the nominees for the award.

Nominated for the awards are:

* Marcos Alonso (Chelsea)

* Mason Greenwood (Manchester United)

* Eric Dier (Tottenham)

* Demarai Gray (Everton)

* Said Benrahma (West Ham)

* Michail Antonio (West Ham)

And for the purpose of nominating the nominees, club coaches are to nominate an opposing player in each of their league matches during the month.

So, it was the coaches of the clubs they've played against in their first three games in August that made the nominations for the player of the month award.

For Manchester United, coaches of Leeds United, Southampton and Wolves must have decided the fate of Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes.

The winner of the award will be decided by the Premier League's sports development panel.
