Its always a normal thing for one to have his or her regrets in life. There is hardly a person in this world who doesn't have one or two regrets in life. At one point in our lives we must have made a decision that we later regretted. Or we must have missed getting something that is very precious and dear to us which we regret.
One of Nigeria's finest and legendary footballer, Austin Jay Jay Okocha has revealed that one of his greatest regret is not winning the CAF African footballller of the year award during his playing days. Jay Jay Okocha who won the British Broadcasting corporation version of the award twice was unable to win the CAF awards.
Okocha is one of the best football player Nigeria, in fact, Africa has ever had. Just that he did have as much luck like the others. Very skillful and creative with the ball. He has one of the highest dribbles in the world of football. Okocha has tutored so many great players in the world. He played for so many English clubs.
In the year 1998 Okocha was supposed to win the CAF awards after his wonderful performance for the super eagles in France world cup but surprisingly lost to Morroco's Mustapha Hadji. In 2003, 2004 Okocha came third behind Samuel Eto'o of Cameroon and Didier Drogba of Ivory Coast.
According to Jay Jay Okocha and i Quote;
''I thought i did enough to have won it because it wasn't a fluke that i won the BBC porty twice in a row and didn't manage to win the CAF awards, Maybe it wasn't meant to be''.
Jay Jay Okocha played for the super eagles of Nigeria and ge played a very vital role in most of their matches then. The former Bolton Wanderers player scored 14 goals and made a total of 73 appearances for Nigeria.
