We are now into the month of April and Chelsea will be facing their first opponents of the month, West Bromwich Albions on Saturday. The blues were impressive throughout last month and did not lose a single game under Thomas Tuchel. Despite coming up against the likes of Atletico Madrid, United, Everton and so on, they did not lose any of those games. The gamea this month could present a different level of challenge for Thomas Tuchel and his Chelsea team. With games in the Champions league, FA Cup and Premier league still to come this month, there is no doubt that Chelsea will be in for a serious challenge.
Already, most of you know that Chelsea will be facing FC Porto twice this month, Manchester City in the FA Cup and the likes of West Ham in the league. So which of these teams could end Thomas Tuchel's 2 months unbeaten run at Chelsea? Well in no particular order, here are the teams that can give Chelsea a run for their money...
1. Manchester City.
Yes of course, Chelsea's strongest opponents this month. The Citizens were drawn with Chelsea in the semifinals of the FA Cup and given the importance of the tie, it's expected that both teams will field their strongest first eleven. At the moment Manchester City are ome of the teams you can say will give Chelsea a tough time due to their incredible run of form. The only loss they've suffered in the last 20+ games is at Manchester United, wining the rest. Now that's a terrific run of results.
2. FC Porto.
Underate them at your own peril, but this team has what it takes to cause problems for Chelsea went they meet in few days time. After taking down Italian giants, Juventus in the last round, there is no doubt that FC Porto will put up a fight against Chelsea. Luckily for them, both ties will not be played at either of the team's home ground but in Spain, so they now have a decent chance of qualifying.
3. West Ham.
I know a lot of readers will be laughing at this selection, especially Chelsea fans but the reason for putting West Ham here is simple; When it comes to games with Chelsea, West Ham knows that there is a lot more at stake than just 3 points. This is a West London derby and as we've seen over the years, it's always more intense than your average league game. With West Ham in form at the moment, they will fancy their chances when both teams meet and regardless of what happened the first time around, this time the result may be different.
So there you have it, the teams capable of putting an 'L' in Tuchel's record of 'Ws and Ds'. The momentum is with this Chelsea team at the moment but as we all know, in football, a team no matter how strong will lose eventually. It's just about time.
