3 Possible Reasons Why Mesut Ozil Posted "Trust The Process" After Arsenal Lost 5-0 To City

Arsenal's disappointing 5-0 loss to Manchester City has sparked a lot of reactions on social media media and during the game, some Arsenal fans were seen cheering Manchester City when they scored other took to social media to air their frustrations, and former Arsenal player Mesut Ozil seemed to be watching the game and he reacted to the defeat.

Manchester City dominated the game from the first whistle, and they got their first goal in the 7th minute courtesy of Ikay Gundogan, five minutes later Ferran Torres doubled Man City's lead, things got worst for Arsenal after Xhaka was shown red for a dangerous tackle on a Manchester City player, before the end of the first half City grabbed another goal through Gabriel Jesus to make it 3-0 at half time.

The second half was more of the same as Manchester City scored two goals through Rodri and Ferran Torres to make it 5-0. It was a humiliating defeat for the gunners and Mesut Ozil reacted with a tweet.

The former Arsenal and Real Madrid player tweeted, Trust the process", this had been a phrase the Arsenal faithfuls have used in showing their support for Mikel Arteta.

Mesut Ozil and Mikel Arteta didn't see eye to eye in the months leading to Mesut Ozil's exit from Arsenal, the player was dropped from the first team and subsequently didn't make any of the match day squads for months, Mikel Arteta said Ozil's absence was due to footballing reasons, that's highly unlikely considering Ozil's professionalism and love for the club, in fact Mesut Ozil was Arsenal's best creative player in the period he was cast out of the team.

So why has he tweeted "Trust the Process" well, here are three possible reasons why Ozil might have made the tweet.

1. He Was Showing Support For Arsenal & Arteta.

The former Arsenal midfielder might be showing his support for Mikel Arteta and Arsenal, despite leaving the gunners in sour teens he has still tweeted his support for the club and his former teammates.

So it's possible that he was just showing his former club a little bit of support, but this is unlikely.

2. He Was Mocking Arteta

It's also possible that he was mocking Arteta, the trust the process phrase has been widely used to back Arteta but considering Arsenal are not doing so well and they just suffered a very humiliating defeat, it isn't the wise time to tweet trust the process.

My guess is that it is just a means to mock the process that hounded him out of the club.

3. He was Showing Concern For His Former Club.

Every well meaning Arsenal fan or lover will be worried with Arsenal's current form, they have lost the three EPL games they have played this season and Arsenal have also failed to score a goal in all the three games. So it's possible Ozil was just showing concern for the process.
