Many days ago, a video showing how some young secondary school girls were smoking shisha surfaced online. This video received a lot of criticism from many concerned people online.
One thing we must understand is that bring up a child in the right way is not dependent on the school alone. In this age of technology, the parents have a lot of roles to play because these kids get exposed to different things online.
Well, I must say that this video has caught the attention of the Lagos state government. It was reported that these young girls attend the Oreyo senior grammar school, Igbogbo, Ikorudu. According to Instablog9ja, the Lagos state government has ordered the suspension and immediate rehabilitation of these young girls. This information was disclosed by the special adviser of education to the Governor, Tokunbo Wahab.
Tokunbo Wahab also said this video is proof that the parents play an important role in raising a child.
After the Lagos state government decision surfaced online, see how people are reacting:
In conclusion, I must say that the decision of the Lagos state government to suspend these girls is truly intelligent because of two reasons.
1. These girls needed to be away from their mates because of the bad reputation the video gave them.
2. Secondly, the decision for rehabilitation is an intelligent move aimed at stopping these girls from continuing their old ways. Note that smoking is generally bad for the health. So, smoking at such a tender age isn't a bad idea. In other words, rehabilitation will prevent future occurrences.
