How Thomas Tuchel Psyched Mason Mount To Trigger His Goalscoring Prowess Against The Canary

Mason Mount was Chelsea Hero during the Blues' League clash with Norwich City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. The Englishman scored a hat trick as the Blues thrashed the Canary 7-0 at home.

Since he found his way into Chelsea first team during the 2019/20 Season, Mason Mount has established himself as an untouchable piece under Frank Lampard and Thomas Tuchel. It is worthy of note that he was called into Chelsea's first team alongside Reece James, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Tammy Abraham and Billy Gilmour during Frank Lampard's First season in charge.

He became a regular during that Season and made 54 appearances across all competitions. When Frank Lampard left Chelsea, Mason Mount still remained a regular under Thomas Tuchel and went ahead to clinch Chelsea's Player of the year award last Season.

However, Mason Mount has been on a Goal drought that has lasted 5 months. Since he scored against Real Madrid during the Semi finals of the UEFA Champions League last season in May, he hasn't scored any goal for club and country until he clinched his first Premier league goal of this season and his first ever premier league hat trick.

Speaking to BT Sports at the end of the game, Mason Mount revealed that it was the mind games that Thomas Tuchel played on him in the build up to that encounter that psyched him up and triggered his Goalscoring prowess.

During the live press conference that Thomas Tuchel held before the clash with Norwich City, the German Gaffer said that Mason Mount was mentally tired. Mason Mount cleared the air after the game that he needed to prove to his Boss that he was ready to play every game and wasn't tired as Tuchel claimed.

Mount said: "Maybe it’s a bit of mind games and I need to show him that I’m not mentally fatigued. You know me, I always want to play every game. But sometimes you’ve got to take a backwards step but I feel today and over the last couple of games, I feel at it and ready to play and I’m absolutely buzzing for today."

Mason Mount's hat trick is coming at a time when Chelsea appears to be having a Striker problem after Romelu Lukaku picked up an ankle Injury and Timo Werner picked up an hamstring injury against Malmo in a UCL encounter.

It will also helped Chelsea because the club doesn't have a Goalscoring Midfielder or any Player with the decisiveness to make the Final pass, like an advance Playmaker. Mason Mount will be filling all these voids if he continues to score more goals for the club.
