OFFICIAL: Arsenal Midfielder Wins Man Of The Match Award After His Superb Display This Night

After four games without a win, Mikel Arteta's side moved back to the top of the Premier League table with a crushing victory over the Blues

Arsenal blew Chelsea away with a rampant first-half performance as they claimed a 3-1 success at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday to end their four-game winless run and return to the top of the Premier League table.

Captain Martin Odegaard scored twice inside half an hour to get Mikel Arteta's side up and running before Gabriel Jesus made it 3-0 before the break.

Chelsea, who were a shambles in the first half, improved slightly after the interval and did pull a goal back through Noni Madueke, but it proved to be no more than a consolation.

The Norwegian and Arsenal Midfielder Martin Odegaard was named man of the match for his impressive performance in today’s EPL encounter. He registered 2 goals and had the highest ratings.

Touted as a "modern" playmaker known for his deft touch, technique, dribbling ability, vision and range of passing, as well as his ability to provide precise, bending deliveries from dead balls and set pieces, the left-footed Odegaard is often compared to attacking midfielders Mesut Özil and Guti due to his creativity on the pitch and direct, incisive movement of the ball to create chances for his teammates.

In addition, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta also noted his exceptional footballing intelligence to find spaces on the pitch as well as his work-rate, stating that "he's got a real stamina and he's so talented, but his work-rate is incredible."
