Mikel Obi's brother joins a European club

We all have role models whose steps we follow, some people's role models are far away, but some are lucky to have their family members as the ones they look up to. Mikel Obi is one of the greatest players to come out of Nigeria and his brother who is a footballer said “It's one no-brainer. I model my game after Mikel. I look up to him if I can achieve half of what he's achieved I'll be grateful”.

Tochukwu Patrick Obi, just like Mikel, can play as a defensive and attacking midfielder. He followed Mikel's steps by joining the Pepsi Football Academy. He last played for TBC FC in Abuja before moving to Europe.

Furthermore, he will now play for NK Urania Baška Voda in Croatia after signing a one-year deal with the club. The club is almost 100 years old, and they compete in the third division of the Croatian league. The club won the fourth division league in 2017 before gaining promotion to the tier that they are now.

Tochukwu doesn't mind playing in the division, he said, "I joined NK Urania Baška Voda because I want a humble beginning, learn my trade, and build my football career from the scratch.” He wants to mature, and he feels being on his own and far away from home will help him achieve that faster.

The 22-year-old also said, “Mikel just wants me to do what's best for me, he allows me to make my own decisions.”
