VILLARREAL vs MAN UTD: 2 Mistakes Carrick Shouldn't Make Ahead Of Tuesday's Champions League Clash

Following Solskjaer's sacking yesterday by Man United, the club decided that Michael Carrick will take charge of the team for the forthcoming games, while they continue to search for a new manager.

Carrick's first game in charge would definitely be a tough one as he would be facing Villarreal in a Champions League clash tomorrow night.

With that being said, here are two tactical mistakes he can't afford to make tomorrow.

1. Failing To Reshuffle The Team

It was quite clear Solskjaer had a favorite set of players that would make his starting lineup, even after a terrible performance in their last match.

His refusal to reshuffle the team ultimately led to his sacking, this is one mistake Carrick can't afford to make.

He should bench players who don't deserve to start and give others a chance. Players like Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire, Lindelof and McTominay, shouldn't be in the starting line-up after their shambolic performance against Watford at the weekend.

2. Going Into The Game With Ole's Tactics

Though it's been less than 48 hours since he took over the affairs of the club, that shouldn't be an excuse for him to re-use Solskjaer tactics and formation for tomorrow's Champions League clash.

Everything Ole tried at the club failed to work, so to avoid another embarrassing defeat tomorrow, Carrick should come up with a new game plan.
