The Premier League matchday 6 commenced with the matches between Chelsea and Manchester City and Manchester United and Aston Villa. Chelsea fell to their first loss of the season with Manchester City beating them 1-0. This took the defending champions to the second position on the log. Manchester United also lost by the same scoreline to Aston Villa. Liverpool's draw against Brentford meant that the loss was not that catastrophic as the Red Devils are still in the top four. Manchester United occupies the fourth position.
Despite Chelsea's loss to Manchester City, they are still third on the table. Everton climbed to fifth after their 2-0 win against Norwich City. Brighton and Hove Albion who have a game in hand are sixth with twelve points. The Seagulls would climb to the first position if they win their outstanding game against Crystal Palace on Monday.
West Ham United, who won against Leeds United, is seventh with 11 points. They are followed by Aston Villa, who won against Manchester United and have 10 points. Brentford comes ninth with 9 points after their hard-fought draw against Liverpool.
Tottenham Hotspur is tenth with 9 points and a game in hand. Watford and Leicester City are tied on 7 points and they occupy the eleventh and twelfth positions respectively.
