Real Madrid were confirmed La Liga 2019/2020 champions after their slim 2-1 victory over Villarreal on Friday 17th July 2020, the same night that their closest rivals FC Barcelona lost with the same margin, at home to Osasuna.
This victory over Villarreal for real Madrid took them 7 points clear at the top of the table with 86 points, above Barcelona who are currently occupying the second position with 79 points.
With just one match day remaining, before the 2019/2020 La Liga season comes to an end, it is safe to say that it's a sweet victory for them and one well deserved.
Next up for the Los Blancos, is to turn their focus over to the champions League round of 16 second leg encounter, where they face Manchester city on Friday, 7th of August 2020, with a bid to overturn their 1-2 first leg loss
