UEFA Champions League

Manchester City To Face Tough Test In Their Next Three Matches Across All Competitions

Manchester City remain fiercely unopposed in their quest for the UEFA Champions League title. The reigning champions of England tore apart their opponents RB Leipzig in an amazing 7-0 thriller.

This is coming days after they continued their brilliant run with a 1 - 0 win over Crystal Palace in the English Premier League. The Cityzens were huge favourites to emerge victorious in that encounter and the did just that.

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland was the star of the night with his brilliant display during the game. The Norwegian struck five time in the seven goal thriller to match Messi's record in the knock out stage of the competition.

Erling Haaland and Lionel Messi are the only players to have scored five goals in a single match during the knock out rounds of the UEFA Champions League. Coincidentally, both achieved this feat under the same Manager, Pep Guardiola.

Considering the decision made by Pep during the game, many believe Haaland could have smashed the record by scoring two hat tricks but he was subbed off before that could happen.

Let’s take a look at Man City’s next three matches in all competitions;

1. MAN CITY VS BURNLEY: Manchester City will welcome Burnley to a cup match on the 18th of March, 2023 at the Etihad stadium.

2. MAN CITY VS LIVERPOOL: The tie between both teams has never been a one size fit all. Manchester City will be faced with a tough test at the Etihad Stadium in their next league match.

3. SOUTHAMPTON VS MAN CITY: Southampton will welcome Pep and his boys to Saint Mary’s Stadium in the English Premier League after they play Liverpool.
