Official: English club sack coach despite meeting set target

English club, Huddersfield Town, have sacked manager Danny Cowley, it has been confirmed on the club's official website.

His dismissal is coming ten months after he took charge of the club.

The assistant manager, Nicky Cowley is also leaving the club.

The club went further to add that they are not seeking applications for the vacant role.

Speaking on the news, the club chairman, Phil Hodgkinson said thanked both the now former manager and his assistant for hard work and dedication to the club, adding that they met their goal of ensuring a place on next season's English Championship.

Hodgkinson wished the pair all the best in their future endeavours.

Huddersfield Town are currently 18th in the Championship and will be hoping to improve their place next season, and if possible make it to the Premier League once again.

They are on the back of a 2-1 win over West Brom in the Championship having played a goalless draw with Sheffield Wednesday in the game before that.
