Deportivo Alaves commenced action in the Spanish La Liga today as they welcomed Atletico Madrid to the Estadio Mendizorroza. The home side secured maximum points by defeating Atletico Madrid 1-0 thanks to a lone goal from V. Laguardia.

Valencia hosted Athletico Bilbao at the Estadio Mestalla in what looked to be an intense game of football. Both sides picked up a point from their today's encounter after playing a 1-1 draw courtesy of goals from Marcos Andre and Inigo Martinez.

Sevilla comfortably defeated Newcomers Espanyol 2-0 at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan thanks to goals from Rafa Mir and Youssef En-Nesyri.

Real Madrid hosted Villareal at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu in what seemed to be the final La Liga fixture of today. Both sides played brilliant football but couldn't secure maximum points as they settled for a disappointing goalless draw.

Real Madrid tops the league table with 17 points, Sevilla sits in the 2nd position with 14 points while Atletico Madrid occupies the 3rd position with 14 points.
