Latest on Akanji
With the acquisition of a defender one of Manchester United's priorities in the summer, Dortmund defender Manuel Akanji is seen as a player who can be a long-term partner for Harry Maguire in defence. They are already planning on using Donny van de Beek as a makeweight to get Akanji and other Dortmund stars like Haaland and Sancho.
United's interest in Akanji is a good news for the player himself. He has once stated that his dream is to play for the Red Devils one day.
Latest on Lloris
Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris might move to Old Trafford at the end of the season. This is because Spurs are already looking for a replacement for him in form of Mike Maignan. If Tottenham eventually land Maignan, Lloris possible destination will be a move to United.
It has been reported that one of De Gea and Dean Henderson will likely leave United this summer and if this happens, Lloris will come in as a backup.
20-goal star identified an alternative to Haaland
The possibility of United signing Haaland in the summer looks very indistinct. As a result, they've been looking for some alternatives which include Red Bull Salzburg striker Patson Daka. The Zambian has scored 20 league goals this season and 27 in all competitions. He will cost United £40 million.
United to compete with Barca for Saul
Pogba's future is still unclear as he could depart Old Trafford at the end of the season. Therefore, United are looking for a top midfielder who can replace him. Atletico Madrid's Saul Niguez is an option. The midfielder could be sold in the summer by Atletico.
If Pogba stays, United could still go for Saul as a replacement for Nemanja Matic. But they will be facing a tough challenge from Barcelona who are also interested in the 26- year old.
