Premier League

Worst players for Chelsea as Red Devils Beat The Blues

Chelsea were defeated 4-1 by Manchester United at Old Trafford on Thursday evening in yet another disappointing Premier League game for the Blues.

Frank Lampard and his band of misfiring misfits tumbled to another humiliating defeat from the moment Casemiro was allowed unmarked to head home after only six minutes.

What followed was the narrative of the season: great chances squandered before being punished by an Anthony Martial back-post tap-in just before halftime.

After sloppy defending from Wesley Fofana, Bruno Fernandes scored from the penalty spot in the 73rd minute, and Marcus Rashford made it four just five minutes later.

Blues fans will be counting down the minutes till their worst season in a century is over, and the good news is that it will all come to an end on Sunday when they visit Newcastle United.

1. Mykhailo Mudryk

That promising first cameo against Liverpool feels so far away today. On early evidence, the Ukrainian's inability to handle the ball and proclivity for choking in front of goal make it difficult to defend him. Confidence is shot, but he needs to put his head down, work hard, and keep the social media turmoil to a minimal if he wants to move forward.

2. Wesley Fofana

Bullied for the opener, being closed off by none other than Victor Lindelof and failing to recover in time, allowing Casemiro the freedom of Old Trafford to nod one past Kepa. From there, I never really recovered. For the third penalty, the defence was bad, and for the fourth, it was abysmal. One of the worst Chelsea performances of all time.

3. Trevoh Chalobah

An terrific old-fashioned challenge rendered left winger Antony unable to continue, but the young Sierra Leonean's efforts should not be diminished. Otherwise, a little static in defence and a lack of awareness.
