Perhaps Real Madrid were to quick with the manner in which they released Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus. The Manchester United Forward moved to Juventus in 2018 having spent 9 years full of glamours and Trophies at Santiago Bernabeu. During the summer of 2009, Cristiano Ronaldo moved to Real Madrid for a then World Record fee of £80million.
He did won his First Ballon D'or award in the same year that he moved to Real Madrid for his performance for Manchester United in the English premier league and the UEFA Champions League campaigns but he wasn't a full-blown World class player then.
9 years at Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo went ahead to pick up his second, third, fourth and fifth Ballon D'or award. He became the club's all-time highest Goalscorer. He became the player that has the highest number of Goals in the UEFA Champions League. He was also an integral part of the Zinedine Zidane's formidable squad that won the UEFA Champions League three times consecutively.
By the time he was leaving Real Madrid, he had already secured his name on the list of the greatest Players of all-time being second only to Lionel Messi. The Los Blancos even got a reasonable profit when they sold him to Juventus during the summer of 2018.
Real Madrid paid £80million to Manchester United to sign him 2009. He was with the club for 9 years and the Los Blancos still cashed out an outrageous fee of £105million when they sold him to Juventus three years ago. I called the transfer fee outrageous because Cristiano Ronaldo was 33 years old at that time.
After he left, Real Madrid did tried to fill his position by signing new Players. The club signed Vinicus Jr from Flamengo. Real Madrid made a move on Chelsea's Eden Hazard the following season after the underwhelming performance of Vinicus Jr. The Brazilian was able to score just 2 goals in 18 La Liga Matches and a total of 4 Goals in 31 appearances across all competitions during his debut season at the club.
Coming off the back of an impressive campaign for Chelsea where he guided the Blues to their second ever Europa league trophy, Eden Hazard was seen as the perfect replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid.
The Los Blancos didn't spare a dime to lure him away from West London as Chelsea were reluctant to allow him to leave. However, he left in a deal that turned to be Chelsea's biggest sale in the history of the club. The Blues, according to Football London, agreed a deal of £103.5million with Real Madrid on Eden Hazard.
Eden Hazard is into his three years at Real Madrid and it's safe to say that his Career at the club has been a shadow of what he had at Chelsea, no thanks to the Injury that marred his debut year at the club.
In his first three years at Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo scored a whopping 146 goals for the club across all competitions. In his debut Season at the club, he scored 33 goals. He scored 53 goals during the second season and 60 goals during the 2011/12 season. Then, there's his supposed replacement Eden Hazard who hasn't scored up to 10 goals in over 2 years at the club. Eden Hazard has scored just 5 goals in his Real Madrid career.
