Manchester United's strongest XI with Marcus Rashford back in the team

England forward, Marcus Rashford is set to return to Manchester United after the international break

Rashford returned to training last week and is looking forward to playing a part in the club's forthcoming challenging schedule.

The return of the Englishman who netted twenty one goals and added twelve assists last campaign, especially now that he is injury-free, is a big boost.

So, when Rashford returns, how will United look?

The impact of Rashford's return on Paul Pogba will be the most significant change to the starting lineup. France international, Paul Pogba has been starting on the left side of attack, where the England international prefers to play.

The attacker will reclaim Paul Pogba's left position, relegating the Frenchman to central midfield.

In a two-man central midfield, Nemanja Matic might be the ideal fit alongside Pogba. According to The Athletic, the Red Devils are assessing Scott McTominay's suitability for the position, but Ex-Serbia international, Nemanja Matic is more experience.

A midfield of Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes will support United’s front three.

Cristiano Ronaldo is United’s best weapon in front and he will benefit from the Englishman’s energy. Mason Greenwood takes over the spot on the right side of attack until Jadon Sancho regains his form.

When England defender, Harry Maguire comes back from injury, he will partner France center-back, Raphael Varane in central defence. Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka both are locked into their roles at full-back while in-form David de Gea has reclaim the number one spot.

Both Fred and Scott McTominay are no longer in the starting XI, and Donny van de Beek is still out.

Edinson Cavani, Jadon Sancho, Anthony Martial, and Jesse Lingard are among the players not included in the starting XI.

With a run of tough matches ahead, United will need to rotate the players and mix and match as much as possible, but this should be the best starting lineup the team has ever had. We should hopefully get to witness this combination when Harry Maguire returns from injury.
