The 2022/23 Season is just few days away winding down and Chelsea Fans can't wait for it to end. This is because this season has been far from normal for Chelsea and their Fans. The West London club has been terrible all season, failing to win any title or qualify for any European tournaments next season.
As the season is gradually winding down, Chelsea has began the preparation to honor some Players for their performance this season. The club's Website announced on Thursday afternoon that Fans can now vote for the Player of the year and Goal of the year.
While Chelsea will hold an award dinner for the women's team that has already won the FA Cup this season and leading the race for the Women's Super League trophy, the West London club has cancelled the ceremony for the Men's Team.
Raheem Sterling, Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, Conor Gallagher, Ben Chilwell and Kalidou Koulibaly might all win an award this season as Chelsea announced that all of them have been nominated for the award of the Goal of the season.
All of these named Players including all the Players in the Chelsea first team are also eligible to win the Player of the season Award as Chelsea has nominated all of them for Fans to vote for.
One thing that Chelsea did right was the cancellation of the award ceremony for the Men's Team as the winners would be presented with the award on the pitch at Stamford Bridge before Chelsea's last League game of the season against Newcastle United.
In my opinion, I think that's a right move. This season has been awful and there's nothing worth celebrating. To choose the Best Player of the season might even be a hard task because many of the Players have been terrible this season.
