Arsenal have apparently made Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale their first option instead of Sam Johnstone, with the Gunners preparing a £30 million bid for the English goalkeeper. The North Londoners have been linked with a deal for West Brom keeper Johnstone this week, with rumours claiming Mikel Arteta's side would compete with West Ham for his signature.
According to talkSPORT, the Gunners prefer Ramsdale to Johnstone and are planning a £30 million deal for the Blades' 23-year-old goalkeeper.
Arsenal are thought to be looking for a new goalkeeper, with current No. 1 Bernd Leno being scrutinized. Last summer, Arteta chose the German goalkeeper over Emi Martinez, allowing the Argentine to join Aston Villa.
Arsenal has also been rumoured with a deal for Barcelona goalkeeper Neto, who are in desperate need of cash this season. According to the same report, the Gunners have already had two bids for Ramsdale rejected, but are working on a third offer and are determined to capture the goalkeeper this summer.
Ramsdale has appeared in 75 Premier League games for United and his former side Bournemouth, keeping a total of 10 clean sheets in two seasons. He joined the Blades for £18.5 million from Cherries, and his current contract has three years left on it.
