2 Terrible Decisions Of Barcelona Manager In The Second-Half That Led To Today's Draw

FC Barcelona has failed to return to winning ways as they were held to a draw 3-3 against Celta Vigo this evening which denied them the opportunity to register their fifth win of the season In La Liga. Although Xavi will join them on Monday. But their interim manager, Sergi Barjuan made two terrible decisions in the second half that led to today's result.

Barcelona started the game very nicely as they scored three goals in the opening 45 minutes. Ansu Fati scored the opener from Jordi Alba's assist. Sergio Busquets scored the second goal from Nicolas Gonzalez's assist. Memphis Depay extended the lead to 3-0 and Jordi Alba's assist.

In the second half, Celta Vigo pulled one back through Iago Aspas's strike to start the comeback. Nolito added the second in the 74th before Aspas's stoppage-time goal ensured that the points will be shared.

However, here are the two terrible decisions of Barjuan that led to Barcelona's draw against Celta:

1. Playing Defensively In The Second Half

Barcelona had an excellent first half as they scored three goals but in the second half, they played defensively which is not in the style of the club. Although, they lost both Ronald Araujo and Ansu Fati to injuries which resulted in early changes from the manager.

Nevertheless, that shouldn't have prompted the manager to instruct his players to sit back in the second half, as Celta gained more control of the game throughout the second period and completed the comeback.

2. Wrong Substitution Involving Gonzalez and Gavi While Coutinho & Luuk De Jong Were On The Bench

Gonzalez was having a decent game before the manager subbed him off in the 59th minute and brought in Riqui Piug who didn't contribute enough to the end of the game.

The manager also subbed out Gavi for Ezzazouli who also failed to contribute to the game. Had it been Barjuan brought in Luuk de Jong, Yusuf Demir, or Philippe Coutinho. Barcelona might have won the game.
