Manchester United square up against Spanish opposition Villarreal on Matchday Two in the UEFA Champions League at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
The Red Devils lost their opening game of the new European campaign 2-1 against Young Boys Bern of Switzerland, and suffered a third round knockout in the Carabao Cup and also lost their Premier League unbeaten record against Aston Villa at Old Trafford last weekend.
Furthermore, United are yet to get points on the board. If they are to get their campaign up and running, a positive result against Villarreal will ensure they regain momentum once again, following back-to-back home defeats.
As Manchester United prepare for tonight's clash against Villarreal, they do so without the full complement of their playing staff. England full-back Luke Shaw is a major doubt for the Champions League clash after he was substituted in the game against Aston Villa due to injury while club captain Harry Maguire is definitely out because of a calf injury.
Also, Englishman Aaron Wan-Bissaka is suspended after picking up a red card against Young Boys Bern - in fact, he will be unavailable for United's third group stage match, after UEFA extended his suspension for "dangerous play".
As for Villarreal, last season's top scorer Gerard Moreno, who scored in the Europa League Final between the two clubs last term, is absent but Juan Foyth could feature after providing coach Unai Emery with a boost by joining the training session ahead of the flight to Manchester.
The ex Tottenham Hotspurs defender had picked up an injury during the 0-0 draw at Real Madrid over the weekend while former Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin is suspended, following a red card in the draw against Atalanta.
Meanwhile, Dani Raba and Samuel Chukwueze are battling to be fit for the Yellow Submarine, but their availability is not guaranteed.
