Sheriff Tiraspol has been the surprise package of the 2021-22 UEFA Champions League competition, as they have so far delivered two amazing results, but can they do it again for the third time in a row against Inter Milan tonight?
Not just in the UEFA Champions League, the Moldovan football club is also doing excellently well in their domestic league. Statistics shows that in their last 20 games in all competitions, they have been able to win 19 and losing just one. The one defeat they had came in the first match of the season, against their domestic rival, Balti.
The 2021-22 Champions League season is the first time the Yellow-Blacks are participating in the competition. Gazing at the group which the fell under, and considering the teams in that particular group, many football fans had already written them off, as they couldn't see how a small club will be able to compete against experience sides like Shakhtar Donetsk, Real Madrid and Inter Milan.
They announced their arrival in the Champions League with an amazing home performance against Shakhtar. They stunned the Ukrainian team by defeating them by two goals to nil, thanks to goals from Traorè and Yansané in the 16th and 62nd minute.
Furthermore, they shocked the world in the UEFA Champions League match day two when they played against La Liga giants, Real Madrid at the Bernabéu stadium. The Moldovan team scored in the 25th minute of the first half after Yakhshiboev gave a ferocious strike. Real Madrid equalized in the 69th minute, but a Thill 89th minute strike seal all three point for Sheriff. For a club founded in 1997, they have shown such top-notch resilience against big sides.

They take on Inter Milan in an away fixture in the UCL, and eyes will be on them to see if they can replicate the excellent performance they displayed in the first two matches. Milan will be wary of the treat they possess, and will do everything to avoid defeat, but can they make it three consecutive wins in the Champions League?
