Nigerian John Obi Mikel came from the bench to inspired his English club to a 3-0 home victory

Former Chelsea And Nigeria national team star John Obi Mikel was impressive again for Michael O'Neil led Stoke City football club of England on Saturday evening, in their 3-0 victory over Nathan Jones led Luton Town FC at Bet365 Stadium in the week 31st of the English Championship.

The former Nigerian star was dropped to the bench for a second consecutive matches by coach Michael O'Neil, but he was later introduced in the second half of the game, and he was able to impress, as he brought more balance to the Midfield.

John Obi Mikel was introduced in the early minutes of the second half, and he was able to impress, as he helped his team in the defence, and he also helped goalkeeper Angus Gunn to keep a clean sheet.

Former Manchester United star Nick Powell opened scoring for the home team in the 20th minutes through an assist from Steven Fletcher, as the first half ended 1-0.

Nick Powell doubled the lead in the 63rd minutes, before Steven Fletcher scored the last goal of the game in the 78th minutes via a fine teamwork from Mikel Obi and Sam Clucas as the match ended 3-0 in favour of the host.

Mikel Obi was impressive for the home team after coming from the bench, and he was to contribute to a goal in their deserved victory.

The victory over Luton Town has now taken Michael O'Neil's Stoke City football club to the 9th spot in the English Championship table with 45th points from 31 matches played.
