EPL: Injury blow for Man United as star midfielder undergoes surgery and could be out for a while

Manchester United have been hit with an untimely injury blow ahead of their trip to Wolves on Sunday.

Star midfielder who performed to high standards against Leeds United has undergone surgery for a groin problem.

Scott McTominay will be out for sometime after undergoing surgery on a groin injury. In an official club statement released on the official website, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed thus:

“Scott has undergone surgery for an ongoing groin injury that was causing significant pain when playing,”

The statement said that the club had tried other treatment methods but the pain persisted, hence resulting to a surgery as the only way to cure the problem. The statement continued thus:

“Having tried all other treatment options in pre-season, surgery was deemed necessary to resolve the issue.

“We hope to have him back soon.”

McTominay performed really well against Leeds United and in his absence vs Southampton, the club appeared to struggle a bit and were held to a 1-1 draw by the Saints.
