It Just Had To Be Him- Manchester United Reacts To Cristiano Ronaldo's Winning Goal

This year's edition of the Champions League tournament has been very enthralling so far. We have witnessed a situation whereby the lowest ranking team (Sheriff FC) beat one of the highest ranking teams (Real Madrid) on their home ground. Even Barcelona FC disappointed their fans by conceding 3 goals against Benfica FC. However, my major concern is the match that took place between Manchester United and Villarreal at Old Trafford.

Everything went fine for the two sides, as none of them conceded the opening goal in the first half. As expected, the first half ended in a draw and some of the players were already looking exhausted. When the second half started, Villarreal started pushing forward.

In the 53rd minute, Arnaut Danjuma went into the box with the ball. From there, he gave a little pass to Paco Alcacer who hit the ball past David de Gea to score the first goal of the game. Seven minutes later, Alex Telles converted a cross from Bruno Fernandes into a beautiful volley that swept past Geronimo Rulli into the net. During the match, Edison Cavani, Fred and Jesse Lingard came in as substitutes and were all instrumental in the winning goal. Edison Cavani passed the ball to Bruno Fernandes, who in turn gave a through pass to Fred. Almost immediately, Fred located Ronaldo with a cross who nodded it to Jesse Lingard. Jesse Lingard tapped the ball back to Ronaldo who scored the winning goal in the 95th minute. To celebrate his goal, Cristiano Ronaldo removed his shirt and attracted a yellow card as punishment.

In response to his last minute goal, Manchester United FC went to their Instagram page and posted pictures of Cristiano Ronaldo with the caption, "95th minute, it just had to be him". This post shows that the management board of Manchester United FC were very happy with Cristiano Ronaldo's winning goal.
