Real Madrid Strongest Line-up That Should Start Against Atalanta In The Champions League Tonight

Real Madrid play host to Atalanta BC at Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano for the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 second leg.

Los Blancos secured a 1-0 away win in Italy courtesy of Ferland Mendy 86th minute long range goal.

The Serie A side had Remo Freuler sent off for a last man foul on Ferland Mendy.

Real Madrid secured a 2-1 home victory over Elche in their last outing in La Liga Santander, with Karim Benzema scoring both goals.

Thibaut Courtois (GK)

The Belgian is Real Madrid undisputed number one, he has featured in 35 of Madrid 36 games in all competitions this season.

Lucas Vazquez (RB)

The Spanish winger has done really well as a makeshift right back. He will have his hands full against a very attacking Atalanta side. He will need to really up his game 

Raphael Varane (CB)

The Frenchman is a nailed on starter when fit. He will look to help shut out a difficult Atalanta attack. 

Sergio Ramos (CB) 

The skipper made his return from injury in the 2-1 defeat of Elche last Saturday. He lasted lasting for a little over an hour and should start this important match. 

Ferland Mendy (LB)

The Frenchman has had a brilliant season so far. He scored a beautiful goal in the first leg to give Madrid a 1-0 lead. He will keep his place. 

2. Midfielders

Luka Modric (CM) 

The veteran featured for the last 28 minutes against Elche but still managed to assist Benzema for the equalizing goal. He will start this game. 

Federico Valverde (CM) 

With Casemiro suspended for today's game, Valverde should take his place. The Uruguayan has proven to be capable replacement with his drives from the middle of the pack. 

Toni Kroos (CM) 

The German started from the bench against Elche featuring for the last 28 minutes. His strong passing ability will be valuable against Atalanta high press. 

3. Forwards

Marco Asensio (RW) 

The Spaniard has been consistent in the starting lineup but he has goal contribution in his last 11 appearances. He's a solid player when fit. He could start this game 

Karim Benzema (ST)

The Frenchman scored twice against Elche to help Madrid to a 2-1 win. He didn't feature in the first leg due to injury but will start this. 

Vinicius Junior (LW) 

The Brazilian youngster has shown flashes of his abundance talent but has been too inconsistent for the Spanish side. With Hazard out once again, he could start this game.
