The Horrible Thing Eden Hazard Did That Made Him Receive The Only Red Card Of His Career So Far

Eden Hazard is one of the most “honest” players in World Football. The Belgian doesn’t cheat or dive on the pitch, he just plays the game and enjoys it.

Hazard is not a controversial player. He does his thing quietly on the football pitch and he rarely receives yellow cards. The only time Eden Hazard received a red card was when he was at Chelsea and it was not even during a Premier League match.

Eden Hazard received the only red card of his career in 2013 after the Belgian footballer did a very horrible thing to someone on the pitch.

When Did Hazard Receive A Red Card?

It was during a match between Swansea and Chelsea in early 2013. It was during the semifinal of the Capital One Cup (Carabao Cup) in 2013.

Chelsea travelled to Wales in a bid to overturn a 2-0 deficit because Swansea had won at Stamford Bridge in the first leg.Chelsea found it hard to break Swansea’s defense and late in the game, when the ball went out for a goal-kick, one particular Swansea ball boy held on to the ball in other to waste time.

Eden Hazard went straight to the ball boy in a bid to quickly retrieve the ball, but the Belgian ended up kicking the young ball boy in the ribs.

The young boy rolled around in pain and referee Chris Foy had to send Eden Hazard off for horribly kicking a young ball boy during the match.

Swansea won the semifinal and went on to win the 2013 Capital One Cup trophy. Charlie Morgan, the ball boy that was kicked by Hazard in 2013 is now a successful businessman in England.
