In-form Super Eagles star nets brace to inspire Italian serie A giant to a 4-1 away League victory

Super Eagles of Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen continues his impressive goal scoring run of form for Gennaro Gattuso's Napoli Football club of Italy on Saturday evening, as they defeated Spenzia FC 4-1, in the week 35 of the Italian serie A.

The former LOSC Lille football club of France star retained his spot in coach Gennaro Gattuso's first eleven, despite being injured in their last game against Cagliari FC, and he was able to impress.

The Nigerian international started in the away team's attack alongside Piotr Zielinski, and the duo were exceptional for the visitors, as they both scored to guide their club to a convincing victory.

Piotr Zielinski opened scoring for the home team in the 6th minutes, after receiving an assist from Giovanni Di Lorenzo, and Victor Osimhen doubled the lead in the 23rd minutes through an assist from Piotr Zielinski, before he scored his second goal of the game in the 44th minutes, to end the first half 3-0.

Roberto Piccoli scored the consolation goal for the home team in the 64th minutes, before substitute Hirving Lozano scored the last goal of the game in the 79th minutes through an assist from Victor Osimhen, to end the match 4-1 in favour of the away team.

With Victor Osimhen's brace, it means he has become the second youngest player to score 10+ goals in his last two seasons in Europe top five leagues.

"Only Erling Braut Haaland is younger than Victor Osimhen among the top-5 European Leagues players with 10+ goals scored in both the last 2 campaigns (2019/20 and 2020/21)."

The Nigerian international will now be looking forward to continuing his excellent run of form for Gennaro Gattuso's Napoli Football club, when they play their next game in few days time.

The 4-1 victory over Spezia FC has now taken Gennaro Gattuso's team to the second spot in the Italian serie A League table with 70 points from 35 matches played.
