Paul Merson has been full of praise for Graham Potter for how he has returned Chelsea to winning ways after a long period of searching for the right form. Meanwhile, the pundit has also mentioned the two teams he feels could stop Chelsea from reaching the UCL final.
Merson praised Potter's work ethic and for swallowing the pride and switching back to a back three which has paid off in the last three games as Chelsea won consecutively. The west London side beat Leeds United by 1-0, beat Dortmund in the UCL by 2-0, and defeated Leicester City over the weekend by 3-1.
Chelsea now needs to take their remaining games of the season seriously and win as many as they could to probably secure a top six in the Premier League and win the UEFA champions league.
However, Paul Merson on the two teams he thinks could stop Chelsea from reaching the UCL final was quoted as saying "Bar Man City and Bayern Munich, I don't think too many teams will want to play Chelsea. If they don't meet those two then I think they'll get through to the semi-finals." (Source: Chelsea News via Vince)
This means that Manchester City and Bayern Munich are the two teams who could dent Chelsea's chances of reaching the UCL final this season. Manchester City has been impressive so far in the competition and Guardiola is eyeing the price heavily this season.
Bayern Munich on the other hand are also a top side and very strong in the competition and they are contenders to clinch the prize.
What are your thoughts on what Merson said?
