POR 3:2 GHA: Two Weaknesses Ghana Showed Today That Needs Improvement Ahead Of Their Next Games

A highly anticipated fixture went down in the FIFA World Cup today when Portugal hosted Ghana at the 974 Stadium on Thursday evening. The match was quite intense and entertaining to watch as Portugal narrowly defeated Ghana 3-2 to big their very first win of the competition this year. Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Leao, and Joao Felix were all on the scoresheet to hand Portugal all three points against the Black Stars.

Well, The Black Stars Of Ghana despite their unfortunate defeat will have to be applauded as they showed character in the game and deserved at least a point against Portugal.

There are still two weaknesses that they showed in today's match that needs urgent improvement ahead of their next games in the competition.

1, Passing Out From The Back.

This was clearly one issue the Ghanaian National Team couldn't overcome in today's match against Portugal. They struggled to make decent passes from their defensive area which was to the benefit of the Portuguese team as they won the ball easily on several occasions. This is one thing they strongly need to work on ahead of their coming games against South Korea and Uruguay.

2, Poor Decision Making.

Some of the Ghanaian players today held on to the ball for so long when they suppose to make quick passes among themselves. Their inability to release the ball quickly and inviting unnecessary pressure to their defense line was definitely poor decision-making on their path. This also needs improvement to restore their chances of making the next stage of the competition this year.
